The MTA is pleased to announce special MARC Train services for events surrounding the Presidential Inaugural Ceremonies on Monday, January 21, 2013. MARC service will operate reserved trains to Washington, DC that will run on special schedules. Round trip tickets cost $25.00 (no regular MARC tickets will be accepted) and will include a special commemorative ticket.  The inaugural service will operate as follows: Penn Line - 8 trains from Baltimore to Washington between 7:00am and 11:00am and then 10 trains from Washington to Baltimore between 1:30pm and 7:00pm. On the Brunswick Line - 4 trains to Washington between 7:30am and 9:00am and then 4 trains from Washington between 3:30pm and 5:00pm. Tickets will go on sale Monday, December 17, 2012. Full information can be found on the MTA website.

Edgewood Station complete

The newly improved MARC Train station at Edgewood is now open. There are still some finishing touches to be done, and they will be completed next month. The new station is adjacent to the tracks and provides a climate-controlled waiting area, restrooms, and a ticket machine. We thank our passengers at Edgewood restrooms, and a ticket machine. We thank our passengers at Edgewood for their patience and we hope that you enjoy your new  station!

Smoking is not permitted on MARC Train platforms

For the health, safety and comfort of all MARC customers and staff, please be mindful that MTA’s no smoking policy on MTA property also applies to MTA-owned MARC station platforms. Signage is being installed on station platforms. This policy does not apply to Amtrak-owned stations (Washington Union Station, New Carrollton, BWI Marshall Airport and Baltimore Penn Station) where Amtrak’s smoking policies apply. However, MARC asks smokers at these four stations to extend courtesy to other non-smoking passengers.
